Ahna Rudy wrote, performed, produced, mixed and mastered her self-released debut album, "Feel The Void".
Before she started making "Feel The Void" the lyrics to the songs had been playing in her head for years, and she was afraid the songs would haunt her if she didn’t do something with them. Even though the lyrics and melodies were clear to her, she didn’t have any musical training or understanding of music theory.
Ahna began taking vocal lessons and started to piece together the music theory concepts. She learned how to use Logic Pro to produce and record her songs and spent a significant amount of time learning to mix and master in order to create the sounds that she wanted to hear. Ahna cared about how her music would sound in the different headphones, computer speakers, car speakers, mixing speakers, etc. She was constantly testing the plug-ins to compare the different effects they would have to her sound on the different speakers.
Ahna wanted to create music that she felt was missing. She was always looking for her sound elsewhere but could not find it and that was because it was up to her to make what she wanted to hear.
Hence the album title, "Feel the Void".
After that and used her knowledge in Adobe Illustrator to put together her linear notes for her album. In June of 2023, 2 days after registering for copyright for her album, Ahna was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Ahna decided to release her album anyways in July 2023, but did not let people know it existed because her focus had changed.
From Sept 23'-Feb 24' - Ahna went through chemo and from March to April 2024, she had daily radiation.
During her treatment, Ahna learned how to use Premiere Pro to put together her music videos.
Ahna creates music and art because she feels like she has to.
